Building on its announced tribute to French filmmaker Claire Simon, Majordocs frames listening as both an aesthetic principle and an ethical stance. The feature competition presents eight documentaries from eight countries, touching on colonial legacies, identity, mental health, and the social effects of digital life. Industry and public programmes extend the theme through DocSessions and masterclasses, including sessions led by sound designer Philippe Ciompi and a masterclass by filmmaker Ben Rivers. MajorDocs Pitch showcases five new non-fiction projects, while MajorDocs Educa and the Communities initiatives broaden access through student screenings and supported tickets for audiences.
